Effective Monday, August 2, 2004, CME will deploy Enhanced Electronic Options for Eurodollars on GLOBEX. As part of this launch, GLOBEX and the new system will both list Eurodollar options. The Enhanced Electronic Options system will be used for both regular Eurodollar options and 1, 2 and 5 -year Mid-Curve Eurodollar options. CME acquired this platform at the beginning of this year, because it offered a solution that facilitates the exposure of multiple market makers prices to end customers, and exposes customer orders to any member of the electronic trading crowd who want to trade against that customer’s order. Additionally, the system facilitates electronic trading of options spreads.
